Thank You for Your Money and Might, Now Go be Good Little Children

I recently read Putin’s latest speech to the Federal Assembly (h/t to PCR for the link).  While I was reading it I couldn’t help but be impressed with the man’s ability to be reasonable.  This is a man who cannot take a shit without inducing more sanctions from the West.  Yet Putin remains very controlled and very patient.  Now I’m not sure we can attribute it totally to his character as some of his control must be due to the fact that Putin is very much a chess player.  He recognizes he is not in a good spot to be an aggressor.  His economy is being destroyed by the West, and America, although an arrogant bully, has the means to pack a pretty damn powerful punch.  That’s what $600 billion annually buys you.

But I also believe Putin and Russia have learned from their history.  Putin seems to have an ability to understand human behaviour and so can read and prepare for actions by the West before they know what they are going to do.  He also understands that there is an incredible amount of dead weight loss in an arms race.  A disproportionate amount of the economy gets allocated to a very small but very elite group of men, namely, the military industrial complex.  And such a strategy wiped out that country once before.  If even half of what Putin claims are his intentions and wishes well he is still infinitely more ideal as a global leader than what our Western heads of state are presenting.  In the following excerpt from his address to the Federal Assembly you can see he understands the West’s intentions very well.

Speaking of the sanctions, they are not just a knee-jerk reaction on behalf of the United States or its allies to our position regarding the events and the coup in Ukraine, or even the so-called Crimean Spring. I’m sure that if these events had never happened – I want to point this out specifically for you as politicians sitting in this auditorium – if none of that had ever happened, they would have come up with some other excuse to try to contain Russia’s growing capabilities, affect our country in some way, or even take advantage of it.

Now here is an excerpt from Obama’s address to the UN recently in which he seems to be discussing an America that died many decades ago.  I don’t know if any of what he describes can be attributed to America today although it seems quite accurate if you replace each proposition with its antithesis.

But we welcome the scrutiny of the world — because what you see in America is a country that has steadily worked to address our problems, to make our union more perfect, to bridge the divides that existed at the founding of this nation.  America is not the same as it was 100 years ago, or 50 years ago, or even a decade ago.  Because we fight for our ideals, and we are willing to criticize ourselves when we fall short.  Because we hold our leaders accountable, and insist on a free press and independent judiciary.  Because we address our differences in the open space of democracy — with respect for the rule of law; with a place for people of every race and every religion; and with an unyielding belief in the ability of individual men and women to change their communities and their circumstances and their countries for the better.

If only we could still claim such things to be true, however if you’re on this site and reading the article you are likely already aware they are no longer true. The ugly reality is that so many of us are outraged and embarrassed by the behaviour of American legislators.  These people are meant to represent us as a society.  We allow them to drag our character through the mud and act like overgrown adolescents with a chip on their shoulder.

The polls are clear, the American people do not want to be involved in Ukraine.  So how is that we are not only involved but that we orchestrated the chaos in Ukraine?  It’s interesting to watch the media and the government work together on forming public opinion.  You see back in the spring when it was all kicking off, the US media was in a frenzy of propaganda against Russia.  Every major ‘news’ station on television had a line up of guys like Bill Browder (one of the most disgusting men in America – although he gave up his citizenship decades ago) who look to reap vast rewards in an American/Israeli controlled Ukraine.  However, when it became clear that the American public wanted nothing to do with Ukraine, just as quickly as the media frenzy began, it ended.  And then not a word about Ukraine was discussed on television for months.

Now if you think about it all, it becomes very clear.  The US government created a catalyst event to draw in the American public’s support.  However, it didn’t work but because American policy is not driven by the will of the people the operation was going to continue regardless, but it had to be essentially hidden from the American people.  Now we knew it was kind of going on in the background but out of sight out of mind for Americans eh?  Our government officials know that very very well.

Then we saw a second attempt at drawing in the American public when the Malaysian airliner was shot down.  The media frenzy picked up again and, hand in hand with the government, they were prosecuting Russia for weeks prior to any investigation.  However, the US government got busted falsifying satellite photos to frame Russia as the culprit.  Problem is there were too many holes in the story to be believable.  Russia was able to prove its innocence much more convincingly than the West was able to prove its involvement.  And so it went to the Dutch for a final vote on who was responsible.  Unfortunately for the West it became clear that a Western fighter jet was likely the responsible party.  At which point, again the media frenzy ended as quickly as it had restarted.  However, the spin never ends.  I figured if I went to Wikipedia I would find an explanation that conclusively indicts Russia and the separatists.  Here’s what I found.

Evidence from open sources indicated that separatists in Ukraine were in control of a Buk missile launcher on 17 July and transported it from Donetsk to Snizhne.[8] This is based on tracing the path of the missile, analysis of shrapnel patterns in the wreckage, voice print analysis of separatists’ conversations in which they claimed credit for the strike, and that photos and other data from social media sites all indicated that Russian-backed separatists had fired the missile.[5]

Let’s have a look at the physical evidence.

High Res MH17

Initially it looks like a mess of wreckage.  But let’s step back and see if we can use common sense to ascertain anything from that.

High-Res-MH17 bullet holes 1

I’m not a forensic expert but I’m not an idiot either.  I don’t need a wildlife biologist to tell me its a duck if it quacks.  I also happen to be an avid hunter and firearms enthusiast.  And so I know a bullet hole when I see one.  I’ve seen thousands of bullet holes in every kind of material you can imagine because I’ve shot through all of them.  But one only requires a bit of logic to gain some understanding from this photo.  Circled in yellow above you can see a symmetrical line of rounds holes.  The size of each hole is the same and the shape consistent with a ballistic round (i.e. bullet) not asymmetrical like shrapnel.  And you can see the spacing is uniform not random.  You don’t need a PhD to understand then that is not the result of shrapnel from a chaotic explosion.  There isn’t an expert in the world that could convince me that pattern is not made by automatic gunfire of some sort and I expect any honest munitions experts would fully agree.

But perhaps the most conclusive evidence is that which we cannot see.  What is very clear to me is that the West has jumped on any opportunity to pin any blunder on Russia.  However, the US media, despite being in what can only be called a manic crazed frenzy accusing Russia of shooting down the airliner prior to the investigation, was oddly MIA subsequent to the Dutch investigation.  And so by way of the silence the truth is told.  In fact, the only thing to come out of the investigation was an admittance by the US that there was no evidence to suggest Russia had any involvement in the incident as is reported in the following Yahoo News article.

In terms of who fired the missile, “we don’t know a name, we don’t know a rank and we’re not even 100 percent sure of a nationality,” one official said

And it was also determined that without Russian help the BUK missile system was useless on its own.  Yet when you read the Wikipedia excerpt above or ask most Americans, the message is that Russia and the separatists shot down the airliner with a surface to air missile.  But that doesn’t seem consistent with the physical evidence nor the circumstantial evidence as verified by the US government.  But it is what the Western governments want us to believe and so that will be major media’s continued storyline on the matter and has kept most of America misinformed, as per usual.

I use this as an example of how the government works hand in hand with the media in an effort to support the lies and stories the political class wants the American people to believe.  They have such a lack of respect for the people that put them into office and who’s money is being spent on their special interests that lying is as natural as breathing.  They lie and when they get caught, they simply admit to it as being a misunderstanding of sorts knowing that will suffice because they understand the American public is completely desensitized to political corruption.  We not only aren’t surprised that we are lied to, we expect it.

What a horrible system under which to live.  We avoid the inevitable cognitive dissonance by lying to ourselves that America is still wonderful and that our public officials act responsibly and with integrity for the benefit of the American public.  Yet in our heart of hearts we all know very well we are one of, if not the most, corrupt nation on the planet these days.  We use our military might and economic prowess to manipulate any situation that serves the neoconservative agenda.

I recently wrote a piece evidencing that fact.  What I didn’t stress in that piece is the fact that, we the people, bear a huge amount of blame for what our country has become.  For it is us that has allowed it.  We’ve put our heads in the sand for far too long.  And the consequence of doing so is that we have lost all control of our country.  It is now entirely run by a very small group of people loyal only to themselves or to war or to Israel.  This isn’t conjecture but fact.  I challenge you to find me a significant piece of legislation over the past 15 years that cannot be tied back to one of those three drivers.  Further, I implore you to look into the amount of, not only elected legislators, but appointed senior policymakers that have sworn allegiance to and carry a citizenship of Israel.  It is truly frightening that there is such a concentrated foreign loyalty within our own government (I believe the number to be around 10% of both houses of congress).  It is not Israel per se that makes this scenario unacceptable but the fact that any such concentrated foreign influence be mixed up in our national legislating and policymaking.

I believe all policymakers should be required to have a single allegiance to the United States of America.  It’s absolutely ridiculous to even have to say something so bloody obvious.  I do not believe that is being racist or being intolerant in any way, it is simply being logical.  Dual allegiance can only lead to conflicts of interest when determining a nation’s policies and so it only makes good sense to require single citizenship.

I’ve always found it odd that despite me having been raised from the age of 6 months to my early twenties in Canada that I was unable to take a Canadian citizenship without relinquishing my US citizenship.  This forced me to live in Canada as a landed immigrant despite only knowing Canada for the first 23 years of my life.  But my parents decided I would keep my American citizenship rather than giving it up due to their loyalty to America.  Yet we have folks here in America determining American foreign policies who have sworn allegiance to another nation. The vast majority of which haven’t resided in that foreign nation and were not born in that foreign nation, they simply felt compelled to swear allegiance to it.  How can that happen?  How does that not get corrected?

The answer is the same way all of the corruption gets past us.  It is kept from the public discourse by excluding it from major media.  For Americans are very lazy citizens.  We are seldom bothered enough on any issue to educate ourselves let alone proactively protest that on which we disagree or to hold legislators accountable for even the most egregious crimes.  The comical bit of bringing about this discussion of dual loyalty particularly is that while the arguments will be heated and passionate by those who benefit from the current system, behind closed doors these folks know very well that such a scenario is a corrupt one and is in place for all the wrong reasons.  These people are not idiots, quite the opposite.  They have coordinated a system in which they can influence the mightiest nation on earth for the benefit of a foreign land, using the military and money of the American people to do so, which I also very clearly evidenced in my last piece. This system is quite brilliant actually.

However, as powerful and immutable as the whole system of corruption seems, it is actually fragile.  Each of us has a vote and our vote has the ability to change the system in one day.  However, the system they created is designed to distract us from doing so.  That is, the system is designed to split us down the middle.  To keep us fighting on irrelevant but emotional issues.  And again the media works hand in hand with the government to ensure we are distracted so as to prevent a united stance against the system.

It is incredible to me that we fall for their tricks every election cycle.  It is mind boggling that we can all be so reasonable and agreeable, between elections, in harmony that the system must change.  However we then fall into this same game every election.  The media starts the fight by controlling the discourse.  They have us talk about gays and racism and abortion and we all fall for this trick every damn time.  Are we really that stupid?  That gullible? That immature?  We must be.  For to the outsider what is happening is so blatant and obvious that it is shocking how easily and readily we play our role so perfectly for these politicians.

Let’s try a little thought experiment.  If you knew for certain that the system was being manipulated so as to have us fighting amongst each other to avoid us standing united against the system, would you have it in you to set aside the emotional nonsense and stand united in an effort to take back our country?  I’m serious about that, sit back and have a think.  Could you ignore the media saying gays should not be allowed to marry or that they should?  Or ignore someone saying that babies are not human until they are out of the womb or that they are a life at conception?  Would you have the focus and maturity to recognize you were being played?  That you were being manipulated to the point of losing sight of the real cause which only a united stance can dismantle?  If you could, then do it.  And don’t just do it but bring others along with you.  Hug a person who disagrees with your stance on gays or on babies or on immigrants.  Hug them because they agree with you that the system has to change.  And then stand together to change it.  We can fight about what colour to paint it after we get the car running.

Imagine how horrible a place America will be in 100 years given the degradation of just the past 15 years.  It will not be us that suffers.  It is our children and their children who will bear the brunt of our stupidity and immaturity.  With every election cycle that we fall into the trap it emboldens the political class.  The system gets more and more water tight with every cycle.  The end game is complete dominance by the political class.  Look around.  The militarization of the ruling class is an epidemic.  Not just police forces but USDA agents now are carrying assault rifles.  Bureau of Land Management agents are carrying assault rifles.  Haliburton has already built a dozen civil concentration camps to house hundreds of thousands of American citizens who will be deemed threats to national security under the code names DC’s (dislocated citizens), CI’s (citizen internees) and EC’s (enemy combatants).  If that all sounds too Orwellian have a read of the following manual.

Screen Shot 2014-12-11 at 11.13.00 PM

It is the manual that coincides with the 2010 Pentagon Directive  and the 2012 NDAA that give the president or any military commander of a domestic operation the authority to withdraw your constitutional rights (specifically, your right to due process and life) by classifying you a threat to national security or enemy combatant.  Now there are arguments that these directives are not to be used against law abiding Americans, however this past spring we know the Whitehouse was considering using the Pentagon Directive in the Clive Bundy incident as the following excerpt from a Washington Times article discusses.  So we know these directives were implemented to be used, otherwise why include language to the fact?

A U.S. official said the Obama administration considered but rejected deploying military force under the directive during the recent standoff with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and his armed supporters.

What’s so painful about these directives is that we all learned the Constitution is not to be superseded by any person, entity or law.  And therefore to act on or give orders to withdraw the constitutional rights of citizens is in and of itself a constitutional breach and should be prosecutable (at least under Tort law it is).  But so isn’t then the signing of such directives a constitutional breach in and of itself,  and prosecutable?  Especially given the oath taken by the President to uphold and defend the Constitution.  How can one both defend the Constitution and also authorize its irrelevance?  Is there any reason whatsoever for any American citizen to lose their constitutional rights?  Well the constitution says no there is no reason for which that can happen.

Yet we sat quietly while these initiatives happened.  Not a peep.  Not a whisper and certainly no united stance against such bold criminality.  Again it is us, we the people, who are doing this to ourselves.  We solidify our apathy with every missed opportunity to unite and take a stand against such incredible criminality targeted against us.  If your neighbor decided that he was giving himself the right to lock up your family at his own discretion and began implementing logistics and strategies for doing so, what would you do?  Would you ignore it and hope your family would be ok or would you proactively take a stance against such a threat?

If you would take a stance then why not take a stance when your elected representatives, who work for you by way of your tax dollars, decide that they are giving themselves the right to lock up your family without the right to due process?  With your neighbor at least you can call the police.  But when the government actually locks up your wife and your children who are you going to call?  Wake up from the slumber people.  Things are decaying beyond what we ever imagined would take place outside of a few insightful novels.  And if we wait until we are in handcuffs well I’m afraid, my friends, it will be too late.
